Simplicity

Those who are preeminent use their religious education or certification to bolster their status. That doesn’t mean we should flee from education and live in a state of ignorance. Education should never be considered a bad thing as long as it isn’t used to diminish the authority of scripture. However, those in preeminence use it in a Gnostic way, especially when faced with a religious confrontation. Most believers will slink away or cower in silence rather than come up against any preeminent authority. I hate to bring this up, but there have been too many cases where some in preeminent positions have used this power to be sexual predators of young boys and girls.

This Gnostic behavior should never occur because God has made things so simple. None of the original 12 apostles was a great scholar. The religious leaders saw them as ignorant peasants. They embraced Christ and the simplicity he established that requires no great education to be a part of God’s work; a simplicity that strips the preeminent elite of one of their greatest tools for usurping the preeminence of Jesus Christ – their Gnostic special knowledge.

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. II Corinthians 11:3

Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. Romans 8:12

For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. II Corinthians 1:12

And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. Matthew 18:2-5

And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. Mark 10:13-15

But wisdom is justified of all her children. Luke 7:35

As soon as you stray from the simplicity God has establish, you lay the foundation for Gnosticism to arise, ushering in those who desire preeminence. God loves to work with the humble and lowly because they immediately give the glory to Jesus. To listen and engage with everyone on an equal basis, in a fellowship that is controlled by Jesus Christ, is an environment those who covet preeminence will either flee or try to destroy.
